Dictation is part of Arabic writing and is considered one of the important foundations of written expression. An error in spelling affects understanding, distorts writing, and is as significant as a grammatical error. While grammar and morphology rules ensure the correctness of writing grammatically and etymologically, dictation ensures its correctness in terms of written form. Dictation is also one of the dimensions of written training in the early stages of basic education, where the student practices writing words in the form agreed upon by linguists to ensure their meaning can be translated. Furthermore, dictation instills beneficial educational qualities in the student, such as careful consideration, accuracy of observation, strong judgment, submission to the truth, patience, order, and cleanliness. This study, "Modern Trends and Methods in Teaching Spelling," addresses the possibility of renewing modern methods and trends contributing to its teaching and identifying the best types suitable for both the teacher and the learner. The researcher's findings and recommendations include the necessity of thoroughly preparing the teacher and the learner in the Arabic language and its teaching methods.
