Data Sharing Policy

The Comprehensive Journal of Humanities and Educational Studies (CJHES) is committed to open science principles and transparency in research. To facilitate this, the journal strongly encourages authors to share the data underlying their published manuscripts. This policy aims to promote reproducibility, enable new research, and increase the public impact of scholarly work.

1. Data Sharing Statement

  • Requirement: All authors submitting to CJHES are required to include a "Data Availability Statement" at the end of their manuscript, just before the "References" section.

  • Content: This statement should inform readers about where and how the data supporting the research findings can be accessed.

  • Options: The statement should be one of the following:

    • Publicly Available Data: If the data is publicly accessible in a repository, the statement should include the name of the repository and the accession number or persistent link to the data.

    • Data Not Publicly Available: If the data is not publicly available due to privacy, ethical, or legal constraints, the authors should state this and explain the reason.

    • Data Available Upon Request: If the data is available upon reasonable request from the corresponding author, the statement should explicitly say so.

2. Encouraged Practices

  • Public Repositories: Authors are strongly encouraged to deposit their research data in a public, discipline-specific, or general-purpose data repository (e.g., Figshare, Zenodo, Dryad, etc.). This ensures the long-term accessibility and discoverability of the data.

  • Data Citation: When citing data in their manuscript, authors should follow established data citation principles to ensure that data sets are properly credited and linked to the publication.

3. Reviewer and Editor Responsibilities

  • Reviewers: Reviewers are encouraged to consider the data availability and transparency of the research when evaluating a manuscript.

  • Editors: Editors may request authors to provide the underlying data for their review. The decision to publish is based on the quality of the manuscript itself, but a commitment to data transparency is an important factor.

By adopting this policy, CJHES aligns with the global movement towards more open and reproducible research.
