Plagiarism Policy

The Comprehensive Journal of Humanities and Educational Studies (CJHES) is committed to publishing only original scholarly work and takes a firm stance against plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct. Our policy is designed to uphold the integrity of the academic record and to ensure that all published research is authentic.

1. Plagiarism Screening

All manuscripts submitted to CJHES are subject to a strict plagiarism check using an advanced plagiarism detection tool, such as Turnitin. The journal’s policy sets a clear threshold for acceptable similarity:

  • The overall similarity score must not exceed 25%.

  • The similarity score from any single source must not exceed 5%.

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria will be automatically rejected, and the authors will be notified.

2. Definition and Types of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined as the appropriation of another person's ideas, processes, results, or words without giving proper attribution. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Direct Plagiarism: Copying text directly from another source without using quotation marks and citing the original source.

  • Mosaic Plagiarism: Borrowing phrases or ideas from a source without proper attribution.

  • Self-Plagiarism: Reusing one's own previously published work without proper acknowledgment. This includes publishing the same paper in multiple journals or submitting a manuscript that is substantially similar to a previously published work.

  • Incorrect Attribution: Incorrectly citing a source or citing a source that was not used.

3. Consequences of Plagiarism

Any manuscript found to contain plagiarism, at any stage of the publication process (including after publication), will be dealt with severely. Depending on the extent of the plagiarism, the journal may take the following actions:

  • Rejection: The manuscript will be immediately rejected.

  • Ban: The author(s) may be banned from submitting to the journal for a specified period or indefinitely.

  • Notification: In severe cases, the journal may notify the author’s institution, supervisor, and/or other journals.

  • Retraction: If an article has already been published, it will be formally retracted, and a notice of retraction will be published.

By submitting a manuscript to CJHES, all authors are confirming that the work is original and free from plagiarism.
