This study aimed to investigate the relationship between self-directed learning and locus of control among students at the Faculty of Education, University of Bani Walid. A descriptive correlational research design was adopted, and the study sample consisted of (50) male and female students selected randomly. To achieve the objectives of the study, two valid and reliable instruments were utilized: a 28-item self-directed learning scale and a 20-item locus of control scale. The findings revealed a statistically significant positive correlation between self-directed learning and locus of control among the study participants. Furthermore, the results indicated statistically significant differences in self-directed learning in favor of male students, whereas no statistically significant differences were attributed to academic specialization. In addition, no statistically significant differences were found in the locus of control attributable to either gender or academic specialization.
