Abstract

The study aims to identify the impact of Total Quality Management (TQM) on improving organizational performance, through an applied study at Bani Walid General Hospital, in light of the increasing challenges facing health institutions and their continuous endeavor to raise service quality and achieve performance efficiency and effectiveness. The study focuses on several TQM dimensions: top management commitment, customer focus, continuous improvement, employee involvement, and training as key factors affecting organizational performance levels. The study adopted the descriptive-analytical method, using a questionnaire as the primary tool to collect data from a sample of hospital staff. Data were analyzed using appropriate statistical methods to test hypotheses and measure the relationship between study variables. The study found a statistically significant impact of applying TQM principles on improving organizational performance, as quality practices contributed to enhancing administrative and service performance efficiency, improving health service quality, and fostering patient and employee satisfaction, in addition to supporting a culture of continuous improvement within the institution. Results also showed that top management commitment and employee training are among the most influential dimensions in achieving effective organizational performance. Based on the results, the study recommended strengthening the application of TQM principles within health institutions, providing continuous training programs for employees, developing performance evaluation systems, and supporting a quality culture that contributes to raising the efficiency of health institutions and achieving their strategic goals.
