This study aims to analyze the relationship between development and political stability in Libya from an African perspective, by investigating the Libyan reality after 2011 and the profound political, security, and economic transformations it has undergone. The study is based on the premise that Libya's development trajectories are inseparable from the protracted state of political instability, and that promoting sustainable development remains contingent upon the existence of stable and effective political institutions, in addition to a stable security environment capable of containing successive crises. The research utilizes a theoretical framework grounded in the concepts of political stability, governance, development, and regional security. It also discusses African conceptual frameworks related to stability and development, particularly those outlined in the African Union’s Agenda 2063. Furthermore, the study reviews the developmental reality in Libya through human and economic development indicators and their impact by the conflict, concluding that the absence of political stability in Libya is not only an internal challenge but also an impediment to the implementation of African development agendas at the regional level. The study recommends the necessity of activating the African role in the process of building the Libyan state.
