This paper investigates the methodology of issuing fatwa (Islamic legal rulings) utilized by contemporary Libyan scholars. It specifically focuses on a case study of three prominent figures: Sheikh Mansour Buzubaidah, Sheikh Muhammad Qarriou, and Sheikh Imran Al-Alous. The study aims to identify the key principles, sources, and scholarly approaches that underpin their legal reasoning and methods of Ijtihad (independent legal reasoning). By analyzing their rulings and written works, the research seeks to highlight their reliance on classical Islamic jurisprudence, particularly the Maliki School, alongside their engagement with modern socio-political contexts and contemporary Nawazil (novel legal issues). The findings reveal a shared approach characterized by moderation (Wasatiyyah), adherence to authenticated texts, and a practical application of Maqasid al-Sharia (objectives of Islamic law) to address evolving societal needs.
