Abstract

This study examines the role of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in information institutions, highlighting the evolving responsibilities of information specialists in the digital era. Given the limitations of traditional methods in delivering rapid and satisfactory services, this research aims to conceptualize IoT applications within libraries—connecting physical resources, devices, and users to enable automated and intelligent data exchange. Through a descriptive-analytical approach, the study reviews intellectual output and successful global experiences in implementing IoT in information centers. Key findings indicate that while technologies such as RFID and iBeacons significantly enhance collection management and user engagement, implementation faces substantial challenges, including weak infrastructure, high costs, and data security concerns. The study concludes by recommending intensive staff training, the enhancement of digital infrastructure, and the adoption of smart library frameworks to ensure effective information service delivery.
