The study aimed to reveal the role of preventive social work in addressing the phenomenon of cybercrime in the digital age by clarifying its mechanisms and methods of awareness, guidance, and prevention, with the goal of reducing deviant behaviors resulting from unsafe technology use and enhancing community digital security. The research adopted the descriptive analytical theoretical approach, relying on relevant previous studies and literature to build a comprehensive theoretical framework that explains the dimensions of the phenomenon and the relationships among its key concepts. The study found that technological advancement and the widespread use of social media have increased opportunities for committing cybercrimes due to the ease of anonymity and the lack of digital awareness. It was also revealed that low societal awareness is among the most significant factors contributing to the escalation of these crimes. The findings confirmed that preventive social work possesses effective tools to confront this phenomenon through preventive education, social counseling, organizing awareness seminars, and establishing community-based digital protection networks that help safeguard individuals from cyber risks. Accordingly, the study recommended activating digital awareness programs in schools and universities, developing a professional guide for social workers to implement the preventive approach in combating cybercrimes, and strengthening cooperation among social, security, and media institutions to promote a culture of safe internet use.
