Research Problem (Issue): The core issue of this study is to explore the relationship between social policies and development planning within the context of sustainable development (SD), and how social policies influence the effectiveness of development plans in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is evident that, in many countries, development planning often focuses predominantly on the economic and environmental dimensions, while neglecting or insufficiently addressing the social dimensions, such as social justice, equality, and the well-being of individuals and communities. Consequently, the research problem can be formulated as a main question: What is the relationship between social policies and planning in the context of sustainable development?
Methodology:The study adopted a descriptive-analytical methodology. This involved describing the reality of social policies, identifying the planning tools associated with them, and then analyzing the relationship between them within the framework of achieving sustainable development. This approach allows for a comprehensive understanding of the role of these policies in improving economic and social development indicators.
Key Findings
- The study found that social policies and social planning are primary tools utilized to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals across various countries.
- Through the integration of social policies and social planning, long-term improvements can be achieved in human development indicators and a sustainable social and economic environment can be provided.
- In the context of sustainable development, the relationship between social policies and planning becomes increasingly clear and significant, as both constitute an essential part of realizing the SDGs, which aim to enhance the well-being of individuals and communities in a way that balances the economic, social, and environmental aspects.
- The relationship between social policies and planning in the context of sustainable development is integrative (or complementary), aiming for the permanent and balanced improvement of the lives of individuals and communities. Social policies provide the supportive framework for human development and equality, while planning works to effectively implement these policies, taking into consideration resource sustainability and environmental protection.
