Abstract

This research investigates religious extremism as a critical contemporary phenomenon, examining its profound detrimental impacts on both scientific and ethical domains. The study aims to identify the root causes and sources of extremism while assessing the severity of its associated hazards. Key scientific repercussions identified include speaking about God without knowledge, declaring fellow Muslims as infidels without legitimate evidence, and exhibiting unwarranted fanaticism away from the moderate path. Ethically, extremism fosters deep-seated hatred and envy, erodes compassion in human interactions, and promotes arrogance, harshness, and societal fragmentation. The research concludes that religious extremism poses severe threats to societal cohesion, driven primarily by ignorance and a lack of sound understanding and fairness. Ultimately, extremism corrupts morality and generates destructive behavioral patterns within society.
