The Syntactic Significance of the Request Sentence in Surah Al-Baqarah: The Interrogative Sentence

Abstract

This study investigates the syntactic semantics of the interrogative sentence within Surah Al-Baqarah, aiming to identify its structural features and uncover the underlying meanings and implications conveyed by various interrogative tools. The research problem addresses the specific syntactic semantics of interrogative sentences in the surah. To achieve this, the researcher adopted the descriptive-analytical methodology, which is best suited for examining and analyzing these linguistic structures. The study systematically gathered all verses containing interrogative structures in Surah Al-Baqarah, analyzed their syntactic compositions, evaluated their rhetorical and semantic impacts based on classical and modern exegesis, and reached significant conclusions regarding the interplay between syntax and semantics in the Quranic text.
