The present study aimed at investigating the important social changes and their perceived role in building the family as well as the extent to which these changes affect socialization and social adaptation within the Libyan family. The study adopted a descriptive analytical approach and reviewed field studies. The study revealed that there is difficulty negotiating/communicating with children, which negatively affects their lives, and thereby leads to a stressful relationship between parents and their children, often resulting from adopting wrong educational methods. It also ascertains that autonomy/independent housing after marriage is essential for any individual in the society in order not to affect the child’s autonomous and stable personality. The study commends that advice and guidance should be always provided to the children, which would reduce the rate of their deviance, especially those influenced by satellite channels. It also highlighted the importance of family planning and the fundamental contribution of education in changing the view towards marriage.
