The implications of external intervention on political settlement paths and national reconciliation in Libyan society: An analytical theoretical approach

Abstract

This study examines the impact of external intervention on political settlement and reconciliation in Libyan society, analyzing the underlying motives, causes, and mechanisms of foreign interference. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, the research highlights how external interventions exacerbate political divisions, fuel armed conflict, and undermine national sovereignty, thereby creating formidable obstacles to achieving comprehensive stability and effective political reform. The findings indicate that foreign actors exploit political vacuums and internal fragmentation to serve their own strategic and economic interests, perpetuating the crisis and hindering national dialogue. The study concludes with key recommendations emphasizing the necessity of fostering domestic solutions, safeguarding national sovereignty, and mitigating the negative consequences of foreign interference to pave the way for sustainable peace and security in Libya.
