Psychological Alienation Among University of Benghazi Students Using Smart Media Technologies in Light of Certain Psychological and Social Variables

This study aimed to identify the level of psychological alienation among University of Benghazi students who use smart media technologies and to examine differences according to selected psychological and social variables. The descriptive analytical method was employed. A Psychological Alienation Scale (developed by the researcher) was administered to a sample of 350 students. Results indicated a relatively high level of psychological alienation. Significant differences were found in favor of single students and those using smart media technologies for more than five hours daily. No significant differences were found according to gender or academic specialization. The study recommends promoting balanced digital usage and strengthening university counseling services.
